JIMMIE VAUGHAN & THE TILT-A-WHIRL BAND
Four-time Grammy-winner Jimmie Vaughan, a true Texan, has become a hero to those who appreciate America's musical history. For Vaughan, country and blues are one and the same, with artists like Muddy Waters and Hank Williams, Webb Pierce and Jimmy Reed influencing him equally. Growing up in Oak Cliff, Texas, he initially tried taking guitar lessons but abandoned them after his teacher deemed him "too far gone." From then on, the blues became his lifelong teacher. Listening to Black radio stations in Dallas, Vaughan was consumed by the blues, and his passion for the genre has only intensified over the years. He has been playing the blues for over 50 years, whether in bands like the Fabulous Thunderbirds or alongside his brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan. In 2010, Vaughan embarked on recording The Great American Blues Songbook, followed by a second collection in 2011. Last fall, his albums were compiled into a collection titled THE PLEASURE’S ALL MINE. Vaughan's latest release, BABY, PLEASE COME HOME, garnered him another Grammy nomination and a Blues Foundation Award. This year, he celebrates his blues-filled life with a special limited-edition box set and book called THE JIMMIE VAUGHAN STORY. Despite his remarkable career, Vaughan believes he is just getting started and remains dedicated to giving back to the music that has shaped him. The blues is an integral part of Vaughan's identity and will always be a part of him.
