ABOUT THE ARTIST:
SIM BALKEY
Sim Balkey, New Mexico’s rising star, is a musical genius when it comes to telling stories through melody and lyric. Drawing vocal inspiration from the likes of Justin Moore and Gary Allen, he’s created his own sound, putting a modern twist on traditional country music.
Growing up glued to country music from his mother and father’s ol’ school 8-track player, rock from his his brother’s car stereo, and Spanish music on the front porch of his aunt and uncle’s homes, Sim credits his family for shaping his love of music. “Music has always been a part of my life. Every morning when I woke up, the first thing I did was turn on the stereo, assuming it had actually shut off from the night before. Heck, I would drive around townand bump to Garth Brooks on my 12” speakers. Music is everything I do.”

BARD EDRINGTON V AND THE BLACKBIRDS
Bard has finished his seventh album and second solo album, Two Days in Terlingua.  It was recorded in a 100 year old church in Terlingua, TX in March of 2020.  Bard and his band set up a mobile studio in the Santa Inez Church on the border of Mexico in the Big Bend region of Texas.  For two days they did nothing but arrange and record the songs as they appear on the album.  The album is 10 original songs and two poems by Bard's great grandmother Mable Edrington.  Bard was joined by Bill Palmer on bass, Jim Palmer on drums, Karina Wilson on fiddle, Alex McMahon on lead guitar and pedal steel, and Zoe Wilcox on vocals.
Currently, Bard and his family live in Santa Fe, NM where you can find him performing with his band, solo or with Boris McCutcheon and the "HOTH Brothers".  Wherever you hear, him sing you will be guaranteed a musical journey of roots music.
