THE MEDITATIONS

The Meditations, a legendary Jamaican harmony trio formed by Ansel Cridland, Danny Clarke, and Winston Watson, made their mark on reggae history with their 1974 hit Woman Is Like a Shadow and classic albums like Message From The Meditations and Wake Up. Renowned for their rich harmonies, they collaborated with icons such as Lee "Scratch" Perry, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and Gregory Isaacs, contributing background vocals to iconic tracks like Punky Reggae Party and Rastaman Live Up. After a brief separation due to personal setbacks, their 1983 album No More Friend reunited them and reignited their international touring. Over the decades, Ansel Cridland continued to produce and perform under The Meditations name, keeping the legacy alive with new members Laury Webb and Daddylion Chandell. Their timeless sound and dedication to roots reggae have earned them global acclaim, with performances at major venues and festivals, including the historic One Love Peace Concert and Red Rocks Amphitheater, ensuring that the spirit of Roots Rock Reggae lives on through their enduring music.
