LOW DOWN BRASS

The LowDown Brass Band is a uniquely strong representation of Chicago Music culture. Providing a modern take on soul, funk, hip hop, and jazz, this multifaceted all-horn band boasts freedom through the art of their craft, whilst gaining critical acclaim from The Gazette, Fame Magazine, The Chicago Reader and more.

LowDown kick started 2023 with the release of the sun-drenched soul and jazz-infused single Call Me. It was followed by the summer release of Take Me Away, which is a club inspired dance floor lover's track.

This next single So Long mellows the atmosphere and is a classic hip hop heartbreaker. So Long uses 808, horns, and the story telling of MC Billa Camp and singer Shane Jonas. Let’s take a pause on the dance floor and reflect on the long winter ahead. There is warmth in the flow.

LowDown maintains a constant performing and touring schedule, blessing every venue with their unique blend across multiple genres, and showcasing their ability to amplify the energy of any room with their positive and infectious spirit.

LowDown Brass Band has built a highly-impressive discography, accumulating over 1.1 million streams across Spotify alone with notable performances at Cotai Jazz Fest, The Montreal Jazz Festival, Winnipeg Folk Fest, SummerCamp, Vancouver Jazz Fest, Folk Alliance, Green River Fest, Chicago Jazz Fest, Aspen Jazz Fest, Mile of Music, Alaska’s infamous Salmon Fest, and opening runs with Galactic, Rebirth Brass, Bon Jovi, and others.

LowDown’s next record will be released in the Spring of 2024 and is titled Citizens of the World. LowDown is repped by the Fata Booking Agency (USA and International), Paquin Booking (Canada), and Liberty Music PR (UK). Their music has been featured on Hulu’s Cruel Summer and is also on the Nintendo Switch’s Dec 2023 release Super Crazy Rhythm Castle.

So long adaptation.

PH8 W/ THE BEES & LOCUSTS

A full band with a rapper at the forefront isn’t a common sight, but Ph8 w/ The Bees & Locusts is just that. They describe their sound as organic hip hop crossed with soul, funk, influenced by traditional native rhythms. Their original compositions, and renditions of various classic hit songs, fill the air with energy and take the listener on a personal musical journey to the unexpected. The majority of their set is designed for any and every human to dance to, groove to, and let loose.

This indigenous led group hails from the oldest continuously inhabited community in the United States, Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. Cody Mirabal, aka “Ph8” (pronounced "Fate"), the poet and orchestrator, assembled the band back in 2022. The name, The Bees & Locusts, represents the duality and balance we all experience within ourselves, creation and destruction, light and dark.

The collective consists of frontman Cody Mirabal, bassist Damon Young, drummer Jonah Romero, vocalists Solomon Goot & Naomi Gomez, guitarist Sarah Martinez, keyboardist Gabriel Lincoln, and percussionist Kevin Francisco. All the band members come from different musical backgrounds, genres, and cultures ranging from classical Spanish guitar to social powwow music blending and creating a unique sound and experience not quite heard or seen before.

Ph8 w/ The Bees & Locusts are currently recording new singles for release and are actively scheduling shows both locally and nationally at music venues, bars, and festivals.
